What is GBYND?
- The Greater Boston Youth News Desk is an initiative aimed at providing youth from throughout the Boston area with training’s that teach skills needed to produce journalistic content for print, TV, and radio. Different levels of training are provided so that youth have the opportunity to improve their skills over time. Student who complete these training’s become part of a network of freelance journalists who can be called upon to complete news assignments.
The Mission:
- The Greater Boston Youth News Desk’s purpose is to convene and support a large network of youth journalists so that a high volume of content can be produced for wide scale distribution on a regular basis. To do this GBYND supports an alliance between high schools and media themed youth groups so that their resources can be leveraged towards supporting this mission.
The Team:
- Presently, the Greater Boston Youth News Desk is a collaborative effort between Write Boston, Media High School at West Roxbury, Press Pass TV, Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, and One Good Egg.
